Between November 07 and 10 the 10
th Airmon conference took place in Bristol (UK). Many experts for workplace safety, metrology, and air quality from all over the world attended. Two colleagues from BAM were also attending and presented parts of their projects. Christoph Grimmer gave a talk about preliminary results from the MetrIAQ project. He showed the concept of impregnating porous materials, and the performance of different emission reference materials, obtained by this method. The Airmon community is quite small, so it was easy to get into contact with most of the participants. Many discussions centred on the use of suitable procedures and measurement techniques. In this regard, the MetrIAQ project can add value and boost the reliable detection of volatile organic compound emissions.
